Hi All,

Can some one please help me. I have an Advent 7340DVD laptop and I would like to upgrade it's memory from 96meg to what every I can afford from ebay or anywhere else you could recomend.

What I need to know is what is the maxim amount of memory can this machine take. I have taken off the bottom pannel and removed the 64meg but I would like to replace it. I will even open up the laptop if i have to, it is out of warrenty but i should be ok with taking it apart and rebuilding it.

Also What type of memory do I need to buy?

Thanks for your help

Rather than buying potentially duff memory from ebay and losing your money, why not use the link to Crucial in the advert to the left. They don't list your model but they have a memory scanner that you can use to get a recommendation on how much you can fit and what is compatible. And if you buy it from Crucial they will take it back if it doesn't work so your money is safe.

Plus if you do it via the link to the left you help to support this site. smile.gif

you nearly got Maximum amount of RAM (128)
in there (probably sdram SODIMM PC100)

Hi all,

Thanks for your help.

I don't think I can contact pcservicecall.co.uk because the laptop is out of warrenty, but using the crucial scan option i found the following info

my laptop motherbord is made by asus as it is part of the L7300 series (confirm L7300 by looking at the bottom of the laptop) looking for this on google gave me the following link

http://www.memoryx.net/asl7seme8.html

basically I have 32mb that I cannot remove but I can take out 64mb and change this to 128mb giving me a total 160mb

hope the above info can help people in the future

Thanks once again
