Hi there everyone...

Last year i bought an AMD Chip and Fan...

It was a XP2200 with a Cooling Fan included!
Anyway, when the chip blew... i sold the Computer!

Now, in order to get a new chip, i need to send a picture of the Fan!

unfortunately, i no longer have it!
Did anybody else buy the chip and fan set from an AMD Stockist?
If so, i need a high res pic of the FAN!

If anybody out there can help, i am willing to make it worth your while!
you can email at
cheers

It's a bad idea to put your email adress on a public forum, hopefully one of the mods will remove it for you before it is harvested. rolleyes.gif

Now to your problem, I'm not sure what it is you are attempting to do, but if the Chip was sold as a full package including cooler with a three year warranty, as is normal, then the seller should just honour the warranty without requiring proof other than your reciept.

As for a photo, that wouldn't be a problem I have 2 AMD based PC's sitting here waiting to go out to customers!! laugh.gif

Where did you buy it from ebuyer / ebay / etc ?

duh The chip blew so you sold the PC? I hope the buyer knew what he was getting! blink.gif

Then having sold the PC & the dead chip & fan, you THEN ask for a replacement? And they want a picture of the fan?

We've passed April the first, right? dizzy.gif

Two eh Chris? Business good? I've got a Sempron 2500 about to go.

I'm not complaining tongue.gif

Ones a Sempron 2200, the others a 2800 and to be on honest they are both good chips, especially for the price[cheap as chips, and all that duh ]

I've put them both on MSI KM4MV boards which are a good bit of kit too.

I also had a P4 HP in for a re-install, that had a 2.0gig 512 cache 400 FSB with 512mb 2700 RAM, I installed the SP2 at the same time with the 2800[with 512mb 2700 RAM].

The sempron was finished about 10mins before the P4, which was nice biggrin.gif .

Which board do you favour, 'hopper?

I thought everyone knew by now that I was an Asus groupie. laugh.gif

The Sempron 2500 is on THIS which is my standard for my 'budget' model. It is a sound board but I've used the MSI when I can't get it.

But my next model up uses THIS with a Sempron 2800. And I love this board. cool.gif

nod.gif A very good choice, Asus, I have used them in the past occassionally but i had one let me down duh

I notice on the board you 'love' the supported RAM is 2100 + 2700, surely thats a misprint???? hmm.gif and should also say 3200??
Grasshopper
You would think so wouldn't you? The NVidia chipset certainly supports DDR400 but Asus resolutely say PC2700 only.

It doesn't bother me since the Sempron runs on 333 and I usually prefer to keep the memory in line. So I just fit 1 Gb PC2700 in dual channel on that model. But it certainly is an oddity. The full size boards using the NForce 2 (like the A7N8X-X that I've got in this PC) DO take PC3200. One of those little peculiarities that Asus are pone to. rolleyes.gif

The reason that I like the board is the integrated GeForce4 MX graphics. For most non heavy gamer users they more than fit the bill. And you've got an AGP 8X slot if you want to expand later. The board is also rock steady as soon as you plug everything in.

One thing I always avoid with Asus though is taking any new model board. They NEVER get the first issue of the BIOS right. Always wait until they get the fix out in the first revision. tongue.gif
