Each time I shutdown my HP pavilion423.uk operating windows XP, I get the following message; End Programme hpcmpmgr. exe, I then get a message to say windows is saving my settings. Please could somebody help me solve this.

hpcmpmgr.exe is an update program for hp's . It looks for driver updates for the pc.

Best thing to do would be to disable it, not really needed, if you want driver update you can just go to the website and download them.

start>run>type msconfig>ok>startup tab

take the tick out of hpcmpmgr>click apply >click ok or close>reboot the pc.
