When my anti virus caught a virus it cleaned it but upon doing a scan with my anti virus it showed that there was still a virus in the restore log, so my anti virus could not clear that but I found out how to do this

1) go to your (control pannel)
2) system (then the performance tab)
3) click on (file system)
4) then go to (trouble shooting)
5) then click (disable system restore)
6) then it will ask you to reboot)
7) reboot (do instructions 1-5 again)
8) reboot
9) then run antivirus

when complete the virus from the logs have gone so no more need to worry.
