hi
i have a hp t350 pavillion desktop pc and am having a problem with the dvd-writer! i've only had the thing for 20 days!! it worked when the pc was first set up but now the drive won't open and the system isn't acknowledging it as active. my feeling is there is no power to the writer drive (no power light visible on attempt to open) but i hae no idea how to fix it!!! can anybody help!!!!

When you boot the PC does the light on the drive come on, it should spin up on boot. The obvious thing to check is the power to the drive, there are usually spare power cables available in a PC, try swapping one.

One thing I would add, if that is a new PC, contact the supplier, you could invalidate you warranty if you open the case.
