Hello everybody

I have Advent 1115C laptop that is not starting up.
I took out the battery, plugged in power lead. When I push power button, power LED is coming on. I can hear HDD starts spinning, but not reading (usually you hear more noise when it reads - this one just spins). CPU fan is not spinning, the screen is black. Tried this with external monitor and no signals there.
Sometimes CapsLock and NumLock LEDs are on at the same time as the power LED, sometimes not - did not figure out the pattern.
No other signs of life.

I took off the back cover, took out RAM and tried starting it - no change. No change in behavior when I taken out HDD and wireless card.

What wrong can be with the laptop?

Many thanks for reading this far! -)

I think you've probably answered your own question, motherboard or cpu. I'd put my money on the motherboard.

BTW there's usually an LED light to signal if the hard drive is reading!

Either way it's probably an expensive repair if its no longer under warranty.

yes, there is LED for HDD and it is not coming up.
I don't think this worth a repair..

Thanks for your answer
