Hi.

Can anyone tell me what 'Runtime Error 339' actually is ? It appears onscreen every time I start up, but has only done so recently.
It also says 'Component COMCTL32.OCX' - one of its dependencies not correctly registered - a file is missing or invalid

So can any one please help me get rid of this message or at least tell me why it appears and is it something very serious or not.

Thanks,

Jaydee

If the computer is running ok apart from this error message, it could be some program is trying to initialise at start up as a back ground program. A program you have uninstalled, but still in the start up entries.

If you've got a clean up program such as CCleaner you can check what you've got in the start up and disable the offending program.

Otherwise you will need to use msconfig and take the tick out of the box of the suspect program and hopefully get rid of the error message at start up.

Don't disable any of your security programs (Norton, etc) as you want these running at start up.
