Without knowing the exact spec of your pc its hard to determine which processor you can upgrade to.

Also being an Advent its not always straight forward which processor the motherboard will support. They tend to use
boards which are specific to their model range.

If you've got a LGA 775 motherboard, there's a chance you might be able to upgrade to a Core 2 duo, but thats not always the case.

If you've got to stay with a P4, I think I'd be inclined to save my money until you can buy a new system.

Your graphics card is quite good as regards AGP, although ATi have better performing cards for AGP, but you will pay a premium because AGP aren't produced in the same numbers as PCI e.

Your system is within the recommended specs for the game, so I'd try lowering some of the video settings of the game. Sometimes just adjusting one of the settings can make a real difference without affecting the look of the game too much.

You could reduce the resolution or one of the special effects for example.

It comes down to how much you are willing to pay if gaming is a major consideration.

At least a dual core cpu is a must with a modern system and you might want to go quad core.
Intel hold the overall performance crown at the moment, but AMD have some decent processors as well,
and they offer good value for their performance.

Graphics is also important and can cost a small fortune, but there are some decent graphics cards ideal for gaming, and they're
reasonably priced.

As for memory, I'd have at least two gig. Anymore than 4 gig and you need to switch over to a 64 bit operating system as 32 bit systems can't access more than 4 gig.

As ever it's always best to do a bit of research to find the ideal hardware for your price point.
