Hello
I keep getting limited or no internet connectivity. When I run diagnostics this sometimes briefly rectifies the problem, but then I lose connection again. Sometimes the message is that 'Unidentified Access:Local only. At others I am told to renew my IP address, install a network adapter or that this has become unplugged ?
Could it be that my wireless router is on the way out ?
My Laptop still connects wirelessly to the internet ?
Thank you for any advice
I am using Netgear WALL-PLUGGED ETHERNET Adapters, could it be that these aren't working properly. Have used for a couple of years without any problems ?
Thanks

It could be any of the above.
If you are using the Homeplug adapters, you should switch off the wireless adapter to prevent any possible attempt to duplicate connection to the router. But if it has been fine for the last couple of years, I doubt whether it is that.
I haven't yet experienced a failure with Homeplug but then I haven't used them for that long. I waited until the price came down to £25 a unit (you can now pick up generic ones frrom Ebuyer for less than that). Undoubtedly they will have a finite lifespan like everything else but what it is I can't say. Routers, however, often start failing from 18 months onward so I'd probably suspect that first.
There is another possibility. Homeplug adapters rely on your electrical wiring. So a problem developing in the electrical circuitary in you house could also cause unreliable connections.
