Hi, there its been a while since ive visited this site, now not sure if thats a good thing or a bad one !! But have to say your service is the best.
Basicly having a few different problems with a friends laptop, one is software and one i think will come under internet connections but i will tell all here too just incase in some way they are connected ! (hope that is ok !! )
Its an Acer Aspire 5920 G, Vista Home Edition, they have repeatedly tried to use AOLs Desktop as they prefer it to AOL 9.0VR. But as soon as you open it, it just stops responding.
Now the same latop will not connect to the internet if the power supply is not plugged in, i have checked all the power saving settings that i can find and cant find anything there to suggest that its something to do with that and cant think of anything else.
and lastly they have for some time been having very poor connection to the Netgear 108 mbps wireless rounter DG 834 GT, ( the laptop is wireless enabled, but they have 2 other computers useing the router through Netgear WG111T adaptors) even when the computers are a short distance from the router. I read on one of your boards of someone with a similar problem and it turned out that it was something to do with a wireless telephone which was beside the rounter, so i got them to move the rounter and still no difference. What i did notice was in the notification area some of the computers were showing a connection of 54 mbps and some 108 mbps which i dont have a clue about, i just presumed they should all be 108 mbps as thats what the router was.
can anyone help out as its driving us all nuts, especially them when they keep getting cut off !!
thanking everyone in advance for any help !!
