[I have a mobile phone,, a Samsung SGH-J700.. have taken lots of photos with it.. I cannot transfer the photos to my Computer, Dell.
I have tried every thing I have been told,,,,, nothing,,, Have tried with Blue tooth, with the USB line that came with the phone..
When I was at my sons place he jusst used the USB and they were perfect, I have a memory card in the phone,, Have tried the samsung wizard, it goes to about two places then up comes ,,,Create,,,, Modify.....Remove,,,, there is a black dot in Remove,, which I cannot remove,,,What ever I have tried there comes the words ,,,Phone not connected,, I am not terribly good with my computer, and I have a lot to learn,, Could you keep it fairly simple,, I am a woman of 82.. Let's park the bluetooth for the moment and focus on the USB connection which should be the easiest.
It sounds like your computer is not recognising that the phone is being plugged in. You know when you plug in a USB device, you get that little 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon pop up in the notifaction area in the bottom right corner of the screen. Does that happen when you connect the phone? Are other USB devices detected correctly when you plug them in?
By the way I'm assuming that we are talking Windows XP but if that isn't the case, please say so.

You are right, Yes, I have Windows XP. I now have the USB connection in and all I get is a 'Mass storage mode enabled' on my phone.. I have the Wirelass USB plugged in my computer. I have tried the Samsung wizard , but I get ''select one of the options,,,, Create......Modify........Remove.. and there is the black dot in Remove, and what I do the dot remains in Remove..Beth

I'm assuming you mean the USB wire rather than wireless? i.e. there is a cable connected to the phone at one end and a USB port on your computer at the other. If you really are trying to use some kind of USB wireless adapter then that is a whole different kettle of fish..........
So it says 'Mass Storage Mode' on the phone? If you go into My Computer on your computer does the phone show? If so, try double clicking it and see if you can see the files that are your pictures. Because it sounds to me like when you connect the phone it is just behaving as a connected drive. Which is what I'd expect really.

Sorry about that, I sounded really stupid,,Yes, the phone is connected properly. I meant that I ALSO had the USB wireless in the computer...I have done as you say,,,BUT did I mention that when I was at my sons he got photos off my phone on his computer...What shows on My computer is my sons CAMERA.. have just realised that,,

Now I'm getting confused. My Computer should only show drives that are physically connected to the computer.
Are you saying that your son's camera is also physicallyconnected to the computer? And it shows but the phone doesn't? Can you say exactly what is listed in My Computer, please.
The fact that your son successfully connected your phone to his computer and copied the photos onto his computer doesn't affect anything. It certainly won't affect what shows in My Computer. I suppose, by the way, that he did just COPY the photos and not actually download them i.e. thee are still photos on the phone?

OK. Can you now look in Device Manager to see the status of the phone (or indeed if it is listed at all). An explanation of how to do this is on the following link:

The only thing that I can think of to try ten, is to uninstall the software that came with the phone. And then go through the process of reinstalling it and seeing if then detects the phone.
Failing that, I confess that I don't have any ideas. As other USB items like your wireless adapter work, it can't be a general USB issue so must be specific to the phone. It sounds like it hasn't inatalled properly & hopefully reinstallation will do the trick.
