Hi All
I have a problem with my advent T200, is won't boot up. The power supply is fine as I tried it on my brothers T100 and ran his computer with no problem. When I turn on my T200 the DVD and the HD run for a short period but the cooling fans and power led on the front of the PC don't light up.

I opened the case and found when I turn on the pc the heatsinks on the board heat up so there must be power going to the motherboard.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

This is the all in one with the 6-pin power connector?
Sometimes the internal connector fries and doesn't supply power to the fans.

Thanks for your reply keebrain

The description of the computer is spot on. i don't understand what you mean 'Sometimes the internal connector fries and doesn't supply power to the fans'.

I had a look inside the machine and no evidence of scorching or arcing on any of the connections. this is a strange power supply to me, I metered it out and all I got was 12 point something volts on all combinations of the pins. Where is the +5, -5 volt coming from?

Do you think there may be another auxiliary board in the PC suppling these voltages?

I'm not familiar with the PC but from your description it sounds like it works like a laptop i.e. you have an external transformer that steps down mains voltage to an input DC voltage. In this case 12V. But PC components run on a spread of voltages, 12V, 5V, 3.3V etc. So there has to be circuitary built in to regulate the voltage supply to the various components.

If it follows the laptop model then this will be on the motherboard itself. And if it is this that has failed then it is probably terminal short of replacing the motherboard.

Hi!
I have dead motherboard of advent T200,
the CPU is Intel Pentium 4 Processor 650 (3,4G, 2M)

If someone know what kind of motherboard could fit for this non-standard computer?

Thank you in advance!
