Hi
I would be grateful for any help you can offer for my problem with my advent T9102. I can get it to turn on but after only a few seconds it stops and then trys to restart, this will go on indefinitely until I turn it off, could you give me a clue as to what you think the problem may be, I really need to get into it, as it has my work files on it!!!! Many thanks. blush.gif

You need to turn off the auto re-start on system failure.

If you can't get into windows for long enough, try safe mode.

When you next boot up and before windows starts tap the F8 key and if you have timed it right you should get a menu.

Using the arrow keys on the keyboard highlight safe mode and press enter.

Once in windows follow this link HERE to turn off auto restart.

Hopefully next time you have a system error you should get a blue screen error message instead of re-starting.

Tell us what the error message is and it might point to what the problem is.

BTW I'm assuming you're using Windows XP.

If it keeps re-starting in safe mode it could well be a hardware problem.

the trouble with T series is usually power pack.

but to save you data you can physically remove the hard disk and connect it to another computer
as second drive and copy your files .

or boot with one of the following:

microsoft ERD commander
http://forum.xatrix.org/tutorials-f26/erd-...-usb-t1552.html

bart PE
http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
and then from command line run
CHKDSK /R C:
it takes 1 hour and you might get in windows

or if you got (or Get) ERD Commander 2005
THE LINK IS IN THAT

THE LINK IS IN THAT TUTORIAL ABOVE.
it has a system registery restore to an earlier date.
do that.
do not use any of the down loaded ISO above to you corporate or governmental
servers as they are doubtful (might have spyware )
there suddenly seems to be a lot of expesive software posted by Russians and Chinese
on the internet .
why??
any way it does not matter if you are saving your photos etc
