Ihave an Advent 5711. I downloaded a scan tool from Crucial which said I have two memory slots and so does my system information, so I ordered extra memory which duly arrived. On opening up the back I can only see one memory slot so I thought the other must be under the keyboard. There are latches around the sides which are easy to undo but something is still holding it at the middle. There are two screws on the back in the middle which dont belong to any compartment. I undid those but no success. What is holding the keyboard in place? Also I checked the specs on this site for my model and it says there is only ONE memory slot. Which is correct I have alraedy paid for the memory module and it might be the wrong one. I cant check till I get the keyboard off. PleeeASE someone help me out this is doing my nut in. Have I one or two slots and how do I take the keyboard off to check?

hello,
the only memory slot you can reach is under the laptop

in the old days they used to put them under the key board but not any more.

you got to return the memory
and the way they would do it in the pc_clinic at PCWORLD would be to try double the size in same slot
and if it does not boot they will take it out put old one in and boot up and will not charge any thing for labour.as it would not be compatible.
