Hello

I keep getting a message on my LCD TV, 'Out of Range'. However, my laptop is located next to the TV & I previously haven't had a problem.
Can anyone offer me any advice on how to fix the problem.

Regards

The out of range message means that the screen resolution set on the laptop is too high (or possibly too low) for the TV. Changing the resolution to one that the TV can handle should remove the message.

Microsoft Article on how to do that

Microsoft Articl, on how to do that

Thank you for replying to to my querey. I'm not really sure whether I am doing things correctly ?. In 'Display Settings- Monitor', it shows 2 monitors.(1) Generic PnP Monitor on NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300. (2) (Default Monitor) on NVIDIA Ge Force 7300. I can alter the monitor resolution on the (1), but on (2) it is fixed at 800 by 600 Pixels. When I press identify monitors it indicates both are 1. If I try to use (1) from laptop to TV, it says 'Out of Range' if I switch to (2) the laptop screen goes blank, but doesn't transfer to the TV screen. I then have to disconnect the monitor cable & reboot the laptop to get the visuals back on the laptop screen ?.
I would be grateful if you could advise where I might be going wrong.

I think that 2 would only come into play if you had a graphics card with two outputs. Not uncommon on a desktop but I've never seen it on a laptop. So ignore 2.

Using 1, have you tried adjusting the resolution to whatever the resolution of the TV is. This should remove the out of range message. You will have to switch the resolution back to the laptop range before you disconnect the TV. Otherwise as you say, you will need to reboot.
