My daughter's laptop would not power up and eventually the power jack post fell out.
I have stripped the machine down to the chassis and the last large printed circuit board, on which all the extenal ports/sockets are mounted (monitor, USB, headphones, etc). I need to get this board out to access the damaged power jack. I have removed all screws, even the hidden ones, removed the fan, heat sink and anything else but this board just will not come out. It seems to be held at the edge between the fan and the microphone/headphone jacks.
Has anyone done this before, is there a hidden clip or do I just pull and say a prayer to the god of laptops?
Any advice welcome.
Regards,
Colin.
