I am trying to help a friend who is having problems with her Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop running Windows Vista. I have sought help from Dell who have sent me various tiny url's because of problems she has been having with her mouse pad. For some reason the browser will not accept it and eventually tells me it can't connect. I think a setting must have changed but I do not know which one. It is finding all normal websites. I shall be grateful for any help you can give me.

I can't honestly think what setting would prevent you getting to them but allow you to other websites. They are after all just a way of shortcutting the full URL. The one that you quote above for instance goes to:

See if you can reach that from the above link. If you can, I can always do the same for the others.
