I am using a standard keyboard and have tried in the keyboard setup to resolve the silly problem of ' @ ' and ' " ' being transposed. I am in the UK and the system is set to uk
Advice as to what I nust do. please?

Well as you obviously know, those are the settings for a US keyboard. So obviously XP doesn't think that you've changed it to UK. When you change the input language to UK, you get the option of the UK keyboard. But it doesn't automatically change. Are you sure that you've set it to UK keyboard?
