I run xp home on a Pentium ® P4 2.00 GHz with 1.75 GB Ram
I am using Office 2000 professional.

This morning I started up Outlook and received the following message, "Errors have been detected in the file C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst. Quit all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox Repair Tool."

Off I went in pursuit of the offending pst file only to find that the Local Settings folder is not present.

I have undertaken a search for all pst files and there are none on the c drive. There are a few old backup files on the E drive but these are old.

I have routinely archived my Outlook folders but cannot find anything that resembles an archive file either.

Has anyone any suggestions.

Thanks

Glen

Local Settings is a hidden folder. Have you changed your settings so that you can see hidden folders? If it was really absent, you'd be having more problems than just with Outlook.

Thanks Grasshopper. Not sure why I didn't check that.

All sorted now.
