Hi Everyone,
Nothing major, just a very annoying little problem which keeps popping up. Recently my IE8 webpages seem to have developed some kind of glitch. The little icons (I've been told they are called Favicons) which are to the left of the name of the webpage I'm viewing (like the Company logo for instance) are all mixed up. If I go on the Vodafone website an Orange icon appears, when I open my Homepage for BT-Yahoo the icon is for the WolframAlpha website, and my online email tab is always for the DWP website. I know I have visited these website recently but why won't their icons stay where they are, and why do they repeatedly pop up on the Tabs I use ? Having said that I note that your icon (the white square with the blue triangle in it) is in the correct place next to your webpage title - I wish it were that way with other websites - and especially with my Inbox on the BT-Yahoo website. It used to be fine - this problem has only started this past week or two. I have tried deleting the History, the Temp Internet Files and Cookies - none of this has worked. Can anyone please suggest anything else I can try to rid me of this irritating little problem please. I know its not life-threatening, but it IS very very irritating. dizzy.gif
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Jaydee

Well a quick google shows you are not alone.

There also seems to be a common theme of IE8 + Vista + Norton 360 which I believe includes you from past posts.

But no known solution other than resetting IE totally. But that only seems to work fr a short time so probably not worth doing.

Very odd............

Thanks for that Grasshopper - at least I feel better knowing that I am not alone. And yes, you're quite correct from my past posts I do work with the three items you mentioned.
Its a strange one isn't it though - obviously its not dangerous as in 'virus and malware' stuff, its just irritating. If I ever do find an answer (because my next thoughts are to get on to the Microsoft people - see what they have to say about it - if anything) then I'll check back and let you know.

Thanks for your time. 41.gif

I suspect that it is a Norton 360 issue rather than a MS one. I have run Vista + IE8 + Norton Internet Security without an issue. So I think it is something caused by 360.
