Hi. Some days ago i bought advent 7111 and immediately did a format of hdd, because there was only one partition. After reinstalling the system, there appeared a problem.. The sound doesn't run.. I can't install the drivers given me by shop. System says that there is not connected any device that works with these drivers. System also detects my soundcard as unknown PCI Device. I don't know what is the type of this soundcard and wchich drivers should I install. So i request any specialist for any advices.

there is no information available on this laptop on PCservices web site .
try going to BIOS by tapping DELETE (DEL)key on boot up.
see if on board sound is enabled if not enable it and save and exit.
also the sound could be AC97 on board sound card.
run BELARC ADVISER program (link on the left )
to find what sound card there is .
and also you might need chipset drivers.

Either I'm going blind or its doesn't mention anything about the sound card on that report.

According to PC World's website the sound card is AZALIA, which if memory serves me right is a Realtek. The TW3 at the start of the serial number would indicate the laptop is based on the Quanta TW3. The only other Advent I know of based on that model is the 7107, so it may be worth trying the drivers on this page -

remove your XP product key from the POST
other wise people on the net might abuse it.
log in and lick quick edit
at Bottom of your post
did you go into BIOS ???
to see if your sound device is enabled ???

Hi guys, iv had the same problem as Rage except that my laptop is a advent 7093. i cant reinsatll the modem or the sounddriver and something tells me they are connected! not sure tho! Rage, how did you go about fixing the problem and where did you get the drivers?

alrigghhttt!!! got it - thanks rage - downlaod those high definsition audio drivers from http://www.realtek.c...p;GetDown=false and then the audio device appears and the contextnat audio device on your driver cd. The modem is also part of this confiduration!!
