Advent 5470 CMOS battery

The CMOS Battery on my Advent 5470 has failed and I want to replace it but I just cannot figure out how to access it. I have a drawing from a service manual and that seems to indicate that it's right in the innards of the beast. I have tried accessing it from the bottom and took out every screw I could find but I just cannot get it apart enough to get access to the battery. I have also tried to access it from the keyboard or top side but again no luck and I can find no instructions, anywhere, as to how to take it apart. I have a feeling I'm on to a loser here and if the worst comes to the worst and I have to dispose of the laptop, how can I access my disk drive to rescue my precious files ? Is there any way of getting the 5470 to work with a flat CMOS battery, just enough to rescue the files from my hard disk drive ?

I found what appeared to be instructions on how to change the CMOS battery on the Internet but sadly when I tried it I found the layout was completely different and it must have been for a different model of Advent.

Appreciate any help, Thanks in Appreciation, Dan

Another day. No new posts.

Do you remember the old days? Even when no one was asking questions, there was lots of chatter going on about football, F1, cars....... People were making posts in silly accents and posting jokes (a few of which were even funny). I didn't join in much being a sad, boring old............ but I liked to see it going on.

And sometimes we even had poetry and songs............. Well we did when Flipper was here. Sigh.

Wake up one day, you're left alone
From now on you're on your own
The sands of time are running low
You'll have nothing left to show
The months slip by and change to years
Soon the twilight gloom appears
And then one day before you know
You'll have nothing left to show.

Where is this dream of your youth.

The pictures on the walls are shaking
They can hear the storm a-breaking
Storms may come and storms go
You'll have nothing left to show
They can hear the earth a-quaking
Buildings come and buildings go
You'll have nothing left to show.

Tomorrow brings another dawn
It might be better from now on
Before too long that day will go
You'll have nothing left to show.

Where is this dream of your youth ?

Word document description not showing in Explorer

I've just upgraded to Win 7 from XP, and never had this difficulty in XP, but all of my Word files no longer show their description when you hover over the name in Windows explorer. Is this something I can change, or something I'll just have to get used to??? Lost without it as I've no way of figuring out which file to open in certain folders as I didn't name them specifically, precisely because the properties held the description and I always got it from that.

TIA, Romayne
